I did have some success with Rhus-Tox tablets that I got at a vitamin store. It's basically poison ivy with the toxins removed. It otherwise mimics poison ivy and triggers your own immune system to produce anti-inflammatories.
The LD-50 rating for the dangerous chemical sodium chloride is 3 g/kg when ingested orally. That dangerous chemical is table salt. In order to approach the LD-50 dose of borax you would have to eat a half of a pound of the stuff, 1000 grams. 1/4 teaspoon of borax weighs roughly 2 grams.
So are you going to give up sodium chloride? Your daily intake is far more than 2 grams.
