I edited the article to show weight, and also to mention the Novak style sight cut and lowered/flared ejection port on the slide.

The mag part was really good

Is the slide able to be milled for a Holosun red dot??

Good questions. My initial answer was going be be it weighs as much as a 1911 commander but I forget sometimes that not everyone is familiar with the platform, which is why i forget to put that kind of info in the articles. Weight unloaded is 2lb 2.4oz

As far as velocity I actually did some extensive testing awhile back with this gun along with a 5" and 6" barreled gun. Those findings can be found here

And for your final question, yes it can be but I believe the common method is to mill the slide to take adaptor plates kind of like the Glock MOS. Tisas offers a few factory options that are already milled for a optic from the factory.

I’ve never seen a commander up close and personal. Have a custom built 1911, a Cylinder & Slide 1911 and 2 other 1911’s and several Staccato 2011’s

I’m broken….and weight is now an issue, my pants fall off so I’m experimenting with suspenders but that’s another challenge

Living in Wyoming I don’t  “need” a 10mm but have wanted one & this sounds like it fits the bill

The only real difference between a standard government model is the slide and barrel are 3/4 of an inch shorter. On the original colts the commander would have had a different hammer and grip safety but that’s not really a thing anymore.

I also struggle with keeping my pants up and have experimented with suspenders. When I worked road construction I pretty much always wore suspenders but now that I’m trucking I just wear a heavy belt.
