It never ends....

The work that is. I spent the last month converting an old dog kennel into a useful shed to work the horses in. I had a 17'x 7' slab under the kennel and I ended up widening it out to 11'. I built a 12' wide 10' long covered 12' tall shed on the slab and added 4' long by 12' wide awnings to each end to make the covered area 12'x18'. Code only allows a 120 sq. foot building without permits but they allow a 54" awning over the windows as long as it is only supported by the wall it attaches to. I beat the system and have the coverage I need in the package I had to have.

I went a tad overboard on the siding as I enclosed both side walls inside and out, and I did the ceiling as well. I put some shelves in too. Rubber mats on the floor and cross ties in the corners (I need to finish those).

The wife likes it and that is all that matters.......pretty fancy for a horse shed. Now the farrier can stay out of the weather and the wife has a safe place to groom and bathe the horses. I'm going to add solar power, battery storage, and 12v lights for her too.
