I no longer hunt, but I remember back in the day, there were a lot more ducks than geese. Now it seems that I see a lot of geese and few ducks. I don't know if my perception is accurate. Do you have any insight on this?
We saw more geese than ducks today. We saw some migrating swans. The Canada geese tend to be more wary- snows and blues are much easier to shoot.

Overall, ducks are easier for us. I’ve never had geese sit in my decoys, but ducks do. We do better on geese over corn fields and better on ducks on the Mississippi.

Hm. We see no shortage of ducks but sheer numbers there are more geese.
