Shrimp!!

I made a batch of shrimp fried rice using fish sauce,soy sauce, sambal oelak for a sauce.   Minced ginger, garlic, celery and onions. That turned out good.
Grilled about 1/3 lb of shrimp seasoned with olive oil, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika and celery seed.  Excellent!!
Since we're going to hit 104° tomorrow, I'll grill more shrimp tomorrow. It only takes 3-4 minutes on the grill so I won't have to spend much time outside.  There's enough fried rice left over to make 5 meals, so no real cooking time necessary.

Man it has been ages since I had a good shrimp meal. Or blue crabs for that matter. When I was a kid there was always someone selling shrimp they had driven down to the gulf to pick up right at the docks. I don't know how much they cost back then but I know my Dad couldn't pass up a big bag of shrimp and we would have a feast on them. Crabs were easier, we'd just go crabbing in the bay.

The last time I had fresh blue crabs was 28 years ago. We caught a pile of them and got fat on them.

Looks like a good meal.

Never liked shrimp. I tried but just couldn't do it. Since most shrimp on the market comes from the filthiest waters in Asia, I don't feel I'm missing anything.
