Suppressors and decreased wait times

So, I guess everyone knows this:

https://www.outdoorlife.com/guns/atf-sup...ait-times/

The article seems to credit some new hotshot at the Bureau who streamlined the system. The article claims to explain HOW they did it. My question is WHY?

If they do something non-nefarious it makes me suspicious. (Have they ever done something non-nefarious?) I have my suspicions: Did they allow the system to speed up because if you can get the stamp quickly, you’ll be less likely to push for removal of the entire NFA? Is it because it creates an electronic “presence” in their databases? (Obviously 4473 is paper and stays at the FFL.) Is it to encourage more people to apply, thus netting them more $200 stamp fees? Is it something else subversive? Or is it truly that the new guy had an idea and they let him do it?

I wonder about this too. Here's a scenario that's crossed my mind.
Iirc, only one legally owned class three has been used in a murder. If we had a lot more suppressors out here, it would stand to reason that the chances of a legal owner might snap and use one in a crime would increase because of numbers alone. The news media would have a ball with that.
Of course, our alphabet soup agencies would never do anything like operation fast and furious, would they?

If nothing else, it puts a lot more gun owners in the database that weren't there before. Much like the "free" pistol brace registration did.

It’s not putting anyone in a database that did not volunteer for it by filling out the forms

anyone surprised they get put into a database for voluntary filling out ATF forms and submitting them should not own firearms

That was my point. They filled out those forms only because they wanted a silencer. Most might not have filled out the forms except for the almost overnight ticket incentive. The brace people were just stupid to comply.  So, more people are in that database than had to be.

You can be sure that in addition to reduced processing times, ATF is busy in blue cities handing out suppressors to every gang banger they run across. More legal suppressors in the hands of the law abiding is only a bad thing if crimes are being committed with unlawful suppressors.

Don't believe me? It is now unusual for the police to seize a Glock that doesn't have a "switch" installed. How many pictures have you seen of "seizure of an arsenal" that has a Glock with a switch. For a long time ATF didn't even pay attention to the illegal sales of switches being shipped directly from china. You know, unless the person was "suspected of being a domestic terrorist", I mean a white conservative and then they were hit with a raid and probably shot in the face. But the inner cities are overrun with switches because ATF wants them to be. Is there some rule they can do a no knock raid on someone who ordered one in the suburbs but can't seem to locate the addresses in the cities that received them by the gross?

You can be sure at this point they have some college intern sitting in the suppressor office stamping forms as approved without even doing a background check and mailing out stamps to any address that sends a self addressed stamped envelope for one. Hell, if you live in the hood they will probably give you the parts to make a suppressor work on a handgun because that will definitely help to run up the crime rate using suppressors. It wouldn't surprise me at all that the FTB has a hotline for inner city youth to get questions answered about how to screw the suppressors onto their handguns and have them function even with the switch installed.

You can't really regulate something unless there is a problem with it. And when you have received answers from ATF about prohibited persons who received a firearm and were later denied and their response is, "We just don't have time to go look for the guy that was previously convicted of murder who got a gun he shouldn't have but if he comes in on his own can he get his money back from you?" you really begin to understand they aren't there to fix any problems, they are there to cause the problem to get so bad the majority is willing to throw your Right to self defense in the shitter.

Yes, you may get your approval in 4 days, but the goal for them is to see to it that you can no longer possess suppressors.

We just had a bunch of "youths" shoot up a local neighborhood with Glock switches and AKs. Been seeing more and more reports of Glock switches in the local news.

That’s cuz the “news” is liberal media and they will always make it seem worse than it actually is when pushing an agenda

Actually, they don't report a tenth of what goes on around my area. We seem to be the car break in and thugs in training area of the county.
