Target loads for shotgun

There isn’t a reloading forum, so I’ll put this here? (Maybe it should be in the Ammo forum?)

I still can’t always get primers locally. I think I can still get Cheddite 2000. I’ve seen some info that they are slightly ‘hotter’ than Winchester 209’s, but consistent and within the normal spread for W209’s. I’ve also heard that they don’t like ball powders. Anybody know about any of this??

I want to do a light trap load for my daughter-in-law. Maybe a 1 oz load? Even a light 1 1/8 load might be good. The factory 1 1/8 are beating her up, so I’m looking to help her with recoil. The problem is if I go all the way down to 7/8 oz, she might as well shoot 20 ga
Wish I could help. I've never reloaded shotgun shells. They were always so cheap in the past. I've always used Winchester AA trap load for targets and fun.

Just recently got into shotty reloading. Both of my son-in-laws love shooting clays. Unforch I cannot help on your question about Cheddite primers.
Merely a Flesh Wound!
(Thanks for the forum add!)

So, I did some more research and found some loads for AA tubes and Cheddite primers. I have some Red Dot and some 7 1/2 shot to get started and see if I like the load. My LGS has TiteWad and there’s a very similar load for it, so when I run out of Red Dot, I’ll switch over.

It’s weird because if I start my search at the Alliant or Hodgdon site, it doesn’t always find the load, but if I start by googling the powder, more loads show up. Maybe it’s an iPhone thing.
