What's for supper!

Never got shipping notification but just got notification of delivery today. Looking at tracking it starts right outside Denver CO which I find interesting.
The last Factor meal of my first box:

Blue Cheese Cream Filet Mignon with cauliflower - celery root mash and roasted broccolini.

This is the first filet mignon I have ever eaten that was dry! They obviously cook them well done. The problem is that after 2-3 minutes in the microwave they come out over done. The rest of the meal was tasty. This was not one of their regular meals. It costs extra. Had it come out tender and juicy like I expect a filet mignon to be, I wouldn’t mind that. I marked this one a big NO!

Had the garlic herb barramundi one while the wife had a chimichurri chicken

They remind me of the 80’s era TV dinners I lived on after my divorce

They are bland, not lots of seasonings, chicken was dry, fish was ok, on the edge of dry but not quite

Portion control is meh, we both could eat 2 of them…..getting accustomed to this portion size will be interesting & will help us get into a calorie deficit while having a balanced meal

The VA started me on Ozempic not for weight loss but type 2 diabetes & I’m struggling with it but with my kidney issues it’s a balancing act on what meds I can take

Both are ok, nothing special but not horrible

While discussing split pea soup on the repeater yesterday, a guy said to add some pearled barley. That sounds interesting and when I'm through with the borscht I'm going to try that. It sounds like a perfect marriage, a little bit of chewyness in the soup
The first Factor meal from my 2nd box:

Spinach & Mushroom Chicken Thighs with Creamy Parmesan & White Wine sauce.

The thigh meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. The sauce, mushrooms & spinach were very tasty. Popeye would have been proud of this spinach!

I marked this one a YES! I like chicken thighs way better than chicken breast. Thighs are almost never dry.

That sounds great! I've got chicken in the freezer and some romano in the fridge. I looked up a recipe and I'm anxious to try it awhen  I get water for a shower so I can be presentable enough to get to the store for spinach, mushrooms, and cream.

Had blackened salmon & it was on the low side of meh, rather bland and watery but the salmon was a large portion, almost 1/2 again as large as the other premium fish

Wife had garlic & herb chicken breast and really liked it

That was one of the one's I liked. I don't eat Factor for every meal. I can't afford that. I try to watch my carbs for the other meals. I eat one Factor meal for supper most days. So far I've lost about 6 pounds.

Bacon & Onion pork tenderloin with swiss cauliflower mash & creamy mushroom green beans.

The pork was reasonably tender and moist and the green beans were tasty. I didn’t taste any bacon anywhere in this meal and just a little onion.

I marked this one MAYBE. My second order is on the way. I chose a few I haven’t tried yet.

I’m splurging on them, got 12 per box with the 50% discount and now dropping down to 8 with the discount at 20%

Wife likes em for lunch so we shall see how things go 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I wish I'd thought of that!
