For many months I haven't been able to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Now, after some dental surgery in preparation for heart surgery, they gave me a prescription for hydrocodone/acetaminophen pills.
One of those swallowed with a shot or two of bourbon not only relieved the pain but allowed me to sleep for five hours straight. I feel great! Too bad that stuff is addictive.
I've noticed when I post with my laptop instead of my phone that he backgrounds of my post are darker. trying a different browser to see if it resolves the issue
I haven’t had a 30/06 in awhile, but as a teenager either a Ruger 77mk2 or a Husvarna 30/06 was a pretty constant companion on my teenage adventures either on the trap line, hunting caribou or just wondering the old military training grounds exploring. I shot a literal boat load of 30/06 ammo through those 2 rifles, to the point I could pretty consistently get hits with the low power duplex scopes out to 600 yards at the gravel pits with Kentucky windage.
I recently picked up this Ruger m77 mk2 and today I went out and sighted it in and then took it for a walk.
A lot has changed in the way I shoot since those days, but I dialed the Leupold 3-9x40 to hit 2” high at 100 yards like I used to do, and then went out and put 2 boxes of ammo through it just wondering around and shooting.
It didn’t take long for me to start getting bullets on target out to 300 yards or so using hold over. This rifle is a real sweetheart and I think we are gonna be best friends before long.
The walk did me a lot of good. I wasn’t a stressed out 31 year old man anymore worried about bills and my job and trying to reach my goals in life. For that short time I forgot all about that stuff. For A short Time I was just a boy again.

So in the past few years, ever since Iowa grew a brain and legalized rifle hunting for deer, I stopped slinging cannon balls out of a pheasant gun. My first deer rifle was my second build (shepherded by Tack and Augie- snif I miss those guys) a AR in 450 Bushmaster. I took several deer with that rifle. I love the caliber but I don’t love hunting with an AR. So when Ruger offered an American Rifle in Bushy with a 22” barrel, I jumped at it. It has filled 1-3 tags for the last five or so years. Love this rifle.
This year I noticed that the scope shifts back & forth on the picatinny rail by about 1/32 or 1/64” It doesn’t seem to destroy accuracy, but does it bother me? IMMENSELY!
Is the rail out of spec? The cross bolts on the scope rings? It’s a Vortex scope and the guy at my LGS that mounted it usually does good work. I re-torqued everything to 20 in-lbs
Good grief the amount of stupidity and sheer guesswork is unreal when it comes to what’s happening on the east coast
I’ve seen “reports” and “videos” of drones even hovering over the White House
Now it’s said they are nuclear sniffing drones looking for weapons smuggled into the country to setting the government up to declare emergency’s and martial law to stop Trump from becoming president
Oh and don’t forget the orbs people are seeing
The videos & pictures are hilarious as are the comments on them
People are very scared & afraid of something (not sure what) and when out after dark are rushing around & trying to hide and then the drones hover over their homes…..
One guy in Wyoming of all places was really wound up & posted a couple pictures of “mysterious drones” that turned out to be a USAF tanker refueling 2 fighters
Just read a post where it’s the end times, right out of the Bible and lots of people agreeing
My question is what is the government distracting the people from?
