So I asked the border crossing Canada dude what it takes to bring firearms into Canada….
That triggered a closer vehicle inspection 🤣🤣 and was told no handgun, rifles/shotguns no problem as long as I’ve pre filled out the paperwork & can have a “reasonable” amount of ammunition for each firearm and had a justification for them (self defense is not justification)
American customs asked if we had any firearms & I said no & asked if we did take firearms into Canada what do I need to have proving they were A tme firearms legally taken into Canada & the guy got very suspicious and serious & had us open the topper so he could inspect the bed of the truck as well as the cab of the truck. Was more a visual inspection than anything but he stopped being really friendly
Gas was $1.32 a liter in Canada but max speed limit we experienced was 100kph so we got better gas mileage 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Tried to talk the wife into driving up to Alaska but she felt her job is important and skipping a month of school would not be a good idea 🤣
Spent a week up in Canada & normally I try to avoid all bread due to how it skyrockets my blood sugar & really increases nerve pain
However, we ate at a Italian deli where they bake their bread and it looked sooooooo good
Did not increase nerve pain at all & I had a large sammich that was incredible
Went to a bar/restaurant and the wife got pirogies that were soooo good and I got the house special burger on a bun & once again zero increase of nerve pain
Tim Hortons coffee & apple fritter did increase nerve pain as I expected it to, next day coffee & breakfast sandwich zero increase in nerve pain
McDonald’s in Canada is wild, stuff not available in the states so I pigged out maple bbq bacon double quarter pounder (no fries) expected a large increase in pain & only a minor increase, Double Big Mac….minor increase, spicy grilled chicken with fries, minimal increase in pain
Breakfast Chicken Mc muffin (delicious) and a bacon eggs & cheese bagel minor increase in pain
Stopped at McDonalds in the states for lunch & had a Big Mac (no fries) and Diet Coke (trying to cut out as much refined sugar’s as possible) and WTF……very noticeable increase in nerve pain as totally expected
Bread is the common denominator, must be a shit ton of sugar and corn syrup & chemicals in bread we get here in the states
Disclaimer....I do not recommend anyone follow my reloading advice.....After shooting the Python the other day I realized I had lots of empty cases to fill. I have several hundred empty 45 acp's and lots of 357's that need back filled. I decided to let the 45's sit as I still have many thousands of rounds loaded of those. I did backfill a 150 round batch of 357's with a powder I have not used before....Enforcer. I checked load data for 158g fmj and the starting load was at 12.5 and topped out at 14g. I decided to load them up at 13g to see if I liked it. I loaded them all, cuz that is how I roll. I loaded 158g plated semi wadcutters using Winchester small rifle primers. I don't push the plated pills at top speeds for obvious reasons. I have been using SRP's in my magnum 357 loads for a while and they seem to do the trick and never give me any trouble. I do stick with the Winchesters as they seem to be the softest SRP I have on hand.
My reloading bench has been idle and is buried in construction crap. I managed to clear just enough...err, flatten out just enough to set up my scale and check my weights and make room to pull the handle. Maybe one day I will tackle the 45's.....and maybe I will get a chance to shoot these before 2025!
After putting off paperwork for a couple months,(depressing year, lots of expenses from blown engine) I caught up on my p&l statements. While the numbers were around 50% of my normal, it still wasn't that bad. I can remember way back when my net profit didn't approach driver's wages. So, I'm still counting my blessings.
I've gotten to the point that I think I might benefit from a little extra support. I never thought about them as a weapon other than the obvious "it's a stick" part. I see YouTube videos that utilize a lot of moves I would've never thought of. Pretty brutal shit, actually. In the event that one had to protect against an attack, I guess brutal is better. Whatever it takes to get by.
I won't link to anything, but I ordered an aluminum cane from blade HQ made by cold steel, iirc.
Nope, it's made by ka-bar.
