Old VS Old Bourbon Taste-Off:Round 1- Part 2 - Old Forester 86 VS Old Huckleberry 102!



Bottom Line: Old Forrester - Sweetness, Oak & Floral notes on the nose. Sweetness & Oak followed by hint of Vanilla & medium burn.

Old Huckleberry - Plenty of Oak on the nose. Hint’s of brown sugar, clove and oak followed by medium-high burn.

Winner: It’s a Tie!

I taught her what I knew about mycology (the study of fungus) and she took it and ran with it. She texted me tonight with a pic of her bright smiling face holding a boletus edulis, aka the king bolete. I'm waiting for her permission to post that pic here, but I'm so tickled I have to brag! Picture to follow if she grants me permission. She's turned into quite the mycologist.

A few of the non activated members are showing as viewing forum team. I tried the desktop version and still don't see a forum team area. What am I missing?

Menudo!

I just ate a half can of menudo for lunch. I haven't had it for a couple years. It's a stew/soup are with red chilies, hominy, and tripe. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I really like it with oregano, onions, and lime juice added. The other half is in the fridge and I'll have it for dinner.  Hard to believe I haven't had for so long!

Bottom Line: Sugar cane and molasses on the nose. Sweet molasses flavor up front followed by light burn and a hint of vanilla. 4 Thumbs Up!
