So, I've been helping organize and clearing Sylvia's stuff for Jay. He couldn't handle her clothes without breaking down. I hired a neighbor who specializes in estate stuff. Her task for today was the clothing.
Jay called at 10pm in a panic. Sylvia's niece (basically her daughter) was promised her wedding dress. They were panicked that the wedding dress went to the salvation army. I was instantly able to direct them to its location. She plans on getting married in it. Thankfully, the neighbor that does this for a living recognized it as something special. She did the organizing, I was just labor. It pays to hire a pro! As it turns out, the neighbor works with the same law firm that I hired to make up my will.
In this time of grief, it was nice to provide a little measure of happiness.
I shot my daughter’s CVA Cascade in 350 Legend yesterday to start getting her ready for deer season. I am VERY impressed with this rifle! What a sweet shooting piece. Last year she shot two deer- one shot each- and neither one walked a step. The 350 L is such a mild recoil, it’s surprising how hard-hitting it is at the other end. My daughter likes a shorter pull and the Cascade has a convertible stock that has a removable slice to shorten it by an inch. I put a Vortex Diamondback on it because she likes the illuminated reticle. The combination makes for a real tack driver that is so sweet to shoot.
