[FPC News] BREAKING: FPC Files Lawsuit to Strike Down New Jersey’s Short-Barreled
<p><strong>TRENTON, N</strong><strong>.J. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">(</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">July 18, 2025</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">) — As part of its nationwide effort to eliminate bans on constitutionally protected arms, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) today filed a Second Amendment lawsuit, </span><a href="https://www.firearmspolicy.org/njsbrcase"><strong><em>Firearms Policy Coalition, et al. v. New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, et al.</em></strong></a><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">, </span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">challenging New Jersey’s total prohibition on “short-barreled rifles” (SBRs), defined in state law as those with a barrel shorter than 16 inches or an overall length under 26 inches.</span></p>

Bondi</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> lawsuit, a case that successfully challenged the Biden ATF’s “pistol brace” ban rule and secured injunctive relief for gun owners while the case was being litigated to final judgment, which completely </span><a href="https://www.firearmspolicy.org/biden-atf-pistol-brace-ban-vacated"><span style="font-weight: 400;">vacated</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> the rule.</span></p>
I had this idea of putting a suppressor on my 17 fireball contender barrel for a compact grouse rifle. A 22lr barrel would be a better choice but I don't have one, so I'll just load the 17 down. I blew $100 on threading and was going to try it when i thought about stability. Using an online calculator I found that I'd need 2800 fps, obviously way too fast if I hit one in the body. Oh well, at least I didn't mess up my suppressor.
