RE: If you're interested... - The Shooters Apprentice - 11-14-2024 I edited the article to show weight, and also to mention the Novak style sight cut and lowered/flared ejection port on the slide. I’ve never seen a commander up close and personal. Have a custom built 1911, a Cylinder & Slide 1911 and 2 other 1911’s and several Staccato 2011’s I’m broken….and weight is now an issue, my pants fall off so I’m experimenting with suspenders but that’s another challenge Living in Wyoming I don’t “need” a 10mm but have wanted one & this sounds like it fits the bill RE: If you're interested... - The Shooters Apprentice - 11-15-2024 (11-14-2024, 10:53 PM)Rampy Wrote:(11-14-2024, 07:57 PM)The Shooters Apprentice Wrote:(11-14-2024, 06:36 PM)Rampy Wrote: Good article, my questions are, how much does it weigh (did I miss this) and how’s the velocity? The only real difference between a standard government model is the slide and barrel are 3/4 of an inch shorter. On the original colts the commander would have had a different hammer and grip safety but that’s not really a thing anymore. I also struggle with keeping my pants up and have experimented with suspenders. When I worked road construction I pretty much always wore suspenders but now that I’m trucking I just wear a heavy belt. RE: If you're interested... - olfart - 11-15-2024 Overalls have built-in suspenders! I carry my lc9s in a pocket holster but anything bigger (easier to shoot well) wouldn't be good in a pocket holster. Maybe a shoulder rig would be the answer to that problem. RE: If you're interested... - The Shooters Apprentice - 11-16-2024 I used to think smaller guns were more difficult to shoot, and they are, but you just need to shoot them and get good. I used to hate smaller guns, but I’ve come to really like my little J frame model 60 and pocket carry it quite a bit now. RE: If you're interested... - Rampy - 11-16-2024 I pocket carry the new 632 UC 32 H&R and have found it’s extremely accurate and easy shooting, wife really like shooting it and she hates the 442 38spl Having real sights is wonderful, need to take pictures of targets do I |
