I don’t remember my numbers- year I joined, # of posts… and I can’t even get to a landing page to check. I got nothin’

About 5 years ago, though. I joined as a wet-behind-the-ears AR builder and Augie (RIP) and TackleberryMCS patiently answered my naive questions, so I stayed. Now I mostly just ask naive reloading questions.

The owner/s should have the decency to inform members of its status and/or remove its existence all together. Have seen reference to "owner" or person of significance having health / personal / whatever problems. Not an excuse imo. To those former members, hope you were able extract archived data if desired. There was plenty of time for that.

Amen, brother..remember the site has/had all of our email addresses and notification would not be difficult..as a trooper said in a training session on drug interdiction, “first you gotta’ want to”..

Its a damned shame to lose all of that, with no explanation, no request for help, matter of fact seems that offers of help were rejected. I don't know whether neglect killed it, or whether the site was "murdered".

I tried, pretty much serving as the go between for Neil and Woodsman. For some reason, they weren't communicating directly.
I offered to front the costs figuring others would help pay me back. Evidently, I posted either too much or too little info on the armory about the situation, throwing Woodsman under the bus. At that point I withdrew my $ offer and backed away.
I miss a lot of the members there, and wish a few more would've migrated here, but such is life.

Don't blame yourself for that. I think we could all tell you were trying to not do a full transcript of every call you made. I don't know where his butthurt flow came from where the armory is concerned, but what little bit of internet snoopery I was able to do indicates he's a pretty old feller who lost his wife in December, so maybe it just hit a nerve with all of it. The fact that two people who seem to have a whole lot of control over the direction of the armory weren't in comms with each other and had to use a go-between wasn't a good sign at all.

As I have gone back to the site recently for a status check, I read the "above and beyond" offers (tommag} of help and the aftermath. No good. Like a burning ship, for better or worse, let it sail off across the horizon and sink into the abyss.

Only problem with that is it's carrying valuable cargo with it.

I got a couple texts from Neil today. Surprised me! He was talking to Woodsman on the phone. He asked, I told him with my limited knowledge what I knew. Sounds like progress? I don't know much about the web, but if it rises from the ashes I imagine old bookmarks won't work, probably have a new dns address under the old name? I'll not comment further, but if it gets up and running again I'll post the new link here.

Thanks brother! I didn't delete it from my bookmarks just in case.
