I think I'll look into that protein plate. This is what I had: ![]() It was pretty good. Thanks for the idea brother! This gives me another low carb, high protein option. Terry RE: What's for supper! - speedy - 02-17-2025 15 grams of carbs per 2 Tbsp. of their Teriyaki sauce plus the amount on the chicken. Big difference (health / diabetes - wise between those "simple" carbs vs complex carbs such as found in many beans, veges, etc. The broccoli is gtg based on its low glycemic index. With all that said, that particular meal looks tasty. With all that said, that particular meal looks tasty. I doubt there was more than 1 tbs of sauce in the tiny container. The amount of sauce cooked on the chicken was very thin. The greens were a combo of broccoli and cabbage. As stated before, I’m not doing the hard core don’t even look at a carb keto. The amount of carbs I’m taking in right now is exponentially less than before. As long as my weight and BG continue in the right direction, if it ain’t broke I’m not going to fix it. Terry RE: What's for supper! - speedy - 02-17-2025 Sounds good. Regarding the protein, unless you are weight lifting to increase lean mass or performing other anaerobic exercises, much of the "unused" protein is not metabolized and turns to fat. A small amount transitions to glucose like carbs do but not much. RE: What's for supper! - specops56 - 02-17-2025 Us old dudes require a bit more protein in order to help us keep what little muscle mass we have left. I try to get a minimum of 100 grams of protein per day and limit my carb intake to 50grams but that’s just a rough guide as it varies the only hard and fast rule I’ve got is to keep carbs as low as possible & zero candy/refined sugar I do get dark chocolate now and then for the occasional sweet treat went and paused factor, have 5 in fridge now and next box is arriving tomorrow. Keep the fridge really cold so the should be good by the time we get to them RE: What's for supper! - specops56 - 02-18-2025 Tonight’s Factor meal: Chimichurri Pork Tenderloin with red pepper cauliflower mash & roasted squash: ![]() The cauli mash and roasted squash (I added butter to the squash) was good but the “TENDER”loin was anything but. Dry and tough with no flavor of it’s own. I marked this one a NO! Terry |
