Dem states plan to sue Trump admin to block his progress - MontanaLon - 11-08-2024 https://www.theepochtimes.com/us/governors-attorneys-general-roll-out-plans-to-contest-trump-admins-policies-5756476?src_src=prtnrhard&src_cmp=t911 I have a simple fix for this. Day 1 Trump orders the DEA to shut down all of the recreational marijuana dispensaries in those states. Marijuana is still federally illegal so they are in violation of the law. Each of those states depends heavily on the taxes on those illegal sales to finance their state governments so the hit would be painful. But there is more. The funds used in the purchase of marijuana are illegal and those taxes collected are also illegal which means the governors in those states in spending those funds and that means RICO applies. Each of those governors has significant personal wealth and that can be seized under civil forfeiture statutes. Democrats really like those statutes so give it to them hard and fast. While they are rotting in jail awaiting trial they can think long and hard about how bad they f^cked up. RE: Dem states plan to sue Trump admin to block his progress - specops56 - 11-09-2024 As much as I HATE drugs and drug dealers, pot shops do not violate the Constitution as they were legalized by the people of those states and operate only in those states. and therefore comes under state's rights. Either we believe in state's rights or an all powerful federal government. Texas legalized state only silencers and the feds did exactly what you are proposing to Texas. Can't have it both ways. The simple fact is the democrats flout the law at every turn and we let them. All I am proposing is to not let them, just like they do to us at every turn. So you're saying the federal government is all powerful and that the states have no rights which, by extension, means the people have no rights? I see nothing in that clause that nullifies the 10th amendment. States can't overrule the Feds rules except to be more strict. I don't have to like the system to say use the system in place to wreck the left as they regularly use it to wreck conservatives. It is the whole California setting emissions standards for the country thing. Jam it up their asses by using it against them. Exactly, play by their own rules RE: Dem states plan to sue Trump admin to block his progress - Rampy - 11-09-2024 (11-09-2024, 08:30 AM)specops56 Wrote: As much as I HATE drugs and drug dealers, pot shops do not violate the Constitution as they were legalized by the people of those states and operate only in those states. and therefore comes under state's rights. So every state can legalize criminal migrants illegally in America and the feds can’t do anything other that give the states more money RE: Dem states plan to sue Trump admin to block his progress - MontanaLon - 11-09-2024 (11-09-2024, 09:48 PM)Rampy Wrote:(11-09-2024, 08:30 AM)specops56 Wrote: As much as I HATE drugs and drug dealers, pot shops do not violate the Constitution as they were legalized by the people of those states and operate only in those states. and therefore comes under state's rights. Egg zackly. They can't do that and it shouldn't be allowed, up to an including locking up the politicians in those states doing so. The governor in Massachusetts is saying she will do all in her power to thwart Trump's plan to prevent mass deportations. At some point in doing so she will cross the line into criminality and get herself locked up. The governors of the states allowing recreational marijuana have already crossed that line and they need to be held to it. Now would be a good time to address the issue and will prevent a lot of problems later. You can be perfectly legal by state law and still run afoul of federal law, this is one of those situations and they should learn the lesson that sometimes the dildo of karma arrives unlubed. Yep……agree totally RE: Dem states plan to sue Trump admin to block his progress - specops56 - 11-10-2024 So, basically, states and by extension the people, have no rights other than what the federal government allows them to have is what you're saying. If we do to them what they do to us then how are we any better than them? All we need to do to fix things s to enforce the Constitution as written. Terry |
