Why is it congressmen don't report attempted corruption? - MontanaLon - 12-07-2024

Was just thinking today that I don't ever recall a single instance of a congressman reporting, "This guy tried to bribe me". I find that odd, because it certainly happens all the time. There are all sorts of politicians that get charged with accepting bribes, including US congressmen but I can't recall of anyone ever convicted of trying to bribe a congressman because the congressman reported it to the authorities.

Why is that?

We know for certain it happens, as a senator and VP biden made himself rich selling out this country, so do we just not have any honest politicians who would report that crime? It would be super easy to do as well, yet it never happens that they report it happening. You can't honestly think it doesn't happen and cannot easily be connected to those in congress amassing wealth far in excess of what their salary provides.

Hmmmm.

There's a lot of soap and hot water required, huh?

I think you answered your own question. It's because they always take the bribe.

Quite likely because the person offering the bribe has something on the congress critter that he's threatening to expose, forcing the acceptance of the bribe.

That makes sense, gold or lead.

There's no such thing as an honest politician. No one rises to levels of real power by being honest in this world. Some may be slightly better than others but they are ALL corrupt.
