reviving an old thread - tommag - 01-02-2025

I know i posted this before, but I wanted to put it up again.  I taught my daughters about foraging for mushrooms and my youngest daughter took what I've taught her and has become not only a forager but an amateur mycologist, studying fungus in depth. I'm so proud of her!
Here she is displaying a pristine example of boletus edulis.

In her area mushrooms are pretty much done. She might be able to find chanterelles at lower elevations and maybe some coprinus species. I bet she's looking forward to the morels in a few months. Trout stuffed with morels is a wonderful meal!

I talked to her today and she's finding lots of comprinus at her location. The coprinus go bad so quickly that you almost have the butter hot when you pick them.
