My posts in the food and beverage sub forum. - tommag - 05-15-2024 You may have noticed my obsession with vegetables. I frequently go a long time on just meat and potatos. Eventually I start craving veggies. I think that's my body telling me what I need. Just to clarify, I'm not a vegetarian. I might however, be a vagitarian.😉 RE: My posts in the food and beverage sub forum. - specops56 - 05-15-2024 I was not your typical kid growing up. My mama had no trouble getting me to eat my veggies. It didn't hurt that she was the best southern cook in the universe! I loved (and still do) spinach (watched a lot of Popeye). brussell sprouts, cabbage, collards, turnip greens, green beans, rutabaga, broccoli, carrots, celery, etc. I never liked onions as a kid but I like cooked onions now. Still don't like raw onions. Terry RE: My posts in the food and beverage sub forum. - Towtruck - 05-15-2024 My aunt could grow a red onion so sweet we ate them like apples. RE: My posts in the food and beverage sub forum. - srjdsmith - 05-17-2024 I’m with you on raw onions. Cooked are fine- sometimes. Dad was a farmer and always wanted vegetables because they grew so many different kinds in their garden. I grew up eating lots of vegetables- I still love lima beans but nobody will eat them with me. Terry RE: My posts in the food and beverage sub forum. - tommag - 05-18-2024 I hated Lima beans as a kid but I've done a 180 on that. Come to think of it, I haven't had any in at least a year. Maybe it's time to soak a bowl full. |
