tonight's dinner - tommag - 06-12-2024 For the past month or so I've had strong cravings for vegetables. I substituted some things based on what I have rather than another trip to the grocery store. I was a little bit short of broccoli so I parboiled some carrots to add to it. I'm not a big fan of plain rice so I doubled the sauce just to make sure. I've never seen extra dark soy sauce so I just used a touch more soy sauce. Hopefully im not missing out. The beef, well. I only had about 3/4 of a lb of round steak so it will be enough. I only had mirin wine on hand so I figured that along with the carrots would be sweet enough so I omited the sugar. https://thewoksoflife.com/beef-with-broccoli-all-purpose-stir-fry-sauce/ Anyway, the prep work is all done, except for the garlic and ginger, no sense in cutting those up now and allowing the aromatics to evaporate into the clouds. |
