People think the VA is health insurance and it’s not insurance

I got a bill 9 months after my medical emergency & one phone call to the VA billing office and it was fixed

The VA covered 2 ambulance rides to the local hospital

I don’t know how many days in the hospital and in rehab the VA covered let alone treatment

I was transferred to the VA hospital for rehab till an opening in the rehab hospital came up

The VA covered the ambulance transfer 65 miles away

That’s when Medicare took over and I have Tricare for Life as a secondary & spent 4+ months in the rehabilitation hospital

I paid exactly $0.00

However, as stated the VA is not insurance and will not pay what Medicare does not pay

Yep the rules are call within so many hours to apply to have the VA pay

They also have a process to pay if you do not call within so many hours as my wife did not know to call for almost a week after the first event but they will pay if you play by the rules
