Frostbite

Nope, not me this time, but a close friend. My friend hauls Fairbanks to Prudhoe bay. He frostbit both his knees while chaining up, blistered areas are about 5x5". No black, just blistering, so no danger of gangrene. He carries a rudimentary first aid kit, but I'm sure that changed when he got back down to Fairbanks. Normally it's a day and a half each way during good conditions, but it's frequently several days due to conditions. I advised him to include extra bandaging and lots of Neosporin or equivalent since he sometimes gets held up a few days.
For those who aren't familiar with frostbite, it's very similar to 2nd or 3rd degree burns, same pain and infection risks.
His wife calls me Red Foreman, but I couldn't bring myself to call him Dumbass this time.
