Not Sure What I Think of This

Doctor took me off a oral diabetic med and started me on this, my kidneys are not the greatest & she said this is easier on kidneys than what I was taking for type 2 diabetes

Only a few weeks into it & can’t really tell any difference. Have an appointment with a nephrologist at the end of the month & not looking forward to that…….Not to mention the nuclear medicine hear test or the echocardiogram I’ve got….

Getting old sucks, never thought I’d be alive now so there’s that 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Isn’t that the stuff that makes you skinny? Be careful with it as you could lose so much weight you could fall through your own a hole and choke to death. Wink

Ozempic side effects:

Doctors are being paid gobs of cash to push these drugs whose side effects are usually worse than the condition they’re supposed to treat. That’s why everyone is on statins. Find out about your doctor here: https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov

Don’t take chances with your kidney! Diabetes can be controlled by diet and exercise. I admit i’m not doing it as much as I should but I’m trying. Whatever you do, do not let them put you on insulin! That’s like treating alcoholism with beer. Also, you’ll gain 50+ pounds before you realize it. Ask me how I know!

Before you start on Ozempic, tell them you want to  try Farxiga. It’s a small pill once a day that lets you piss out the sugar. It actually has some kidney protection effects. I’ve been on it for a couple of years and it helps. I’m hoping I can finally muster up the intestinal fortitude and determination to beat my diabetes with enough carb restriction and getting my lazy ass to the gym!

I’ve been on Ozempic a little over a month now. Had a consult with a pharmacist before starting it….but it is the VA……

Will ask the nephrologist about it & about switching to Farxiga since the VA is sending me to him, they have to implement his recommendations

Im trying the diet thing and looking into gyms but its way harder than it was 40 years ago 🤣

I feel your pain brother!!

I have a treadmill and a Bowflex in my garage. I just checked yesterday to make sure the treadmill stil works and it does. Needs some new lubrication but I still have a bottle. I got all the boxes and junk that was piled on and around the Bowflex cleared away. Gonna start back there and work my way up to real weights. At least that's the plan. We all know about plans and first contact. I'll keep y'all updated on any progress or failures.
