Old VS Old: Round 2: Part 2 - Old Elk VS Old Scout!



Bottom Line:
Old Elk - Rye, wood, light fruit & no burn on the nose. Rye, light sweetness & fruit, light wood and light burn at the end. 3.5 Thumbs up!


Old Scout - Fruit, oak & clove notes with no burn on the nose. Light to medium burn followed by sweetness, fruit, Clove / spice. 4 Thumbs up!

Winner: Smooth Ambler Old Scout!

Rye is without a doubt the best.
I've gone through many bottles of various mfg. And I have my favorites. Haven't tried old scout. I'll have to see if they have it at my local supplier.
Best I've had so far is whistling pig rye.
Not the most expensive. Just the best flavor. But it's also not cheap.

I do like a higher rye bourbon. I get more flavor.
