Only hams would understand this

Out here in the northwest 6 meter openings are few and far between. Unless I'm working split I leave my vfo b set to 50.313 as sort of a beacon for openings.    Tonight there was a great opening.  I called cq on 50.125 and immediately moved to 50.135.  After that i couldn't find a clear frequency from 50.115 to 50.185!  Boy oh boy was it ever fun!  I haven't had this much fun on six meters for years!

I just got a FT-450, but need to make a digital cable to try FT8. I haven't heard anyone speak on 6 yet.

Yeah  there isn't much ssb traffic on 6m anymore.  I don't use ft8 but listen for strong signals there to tell me the band is open.  We don't get as many e clouds here as they do in the east.

Which is kinda hard to grasp, since most new rigs cover 6 meters. I guess it's getting the same treatment that 2 and higher is getting, which is everyone monitors but no one talks ..
