Well, so. Today was the last day with students. I have to go Monday and close up my classroom. After 26 years of teaching, retirement drifts in pretty softly. Every year summer vacation ends the school year, but I guess I won’t really feel ‘retired’ until I don’t go back in August.

But, on paper, it’s official. Your boy is retired (…from 6th grade social studies. I’ll keep teaching college as an adjunct faculty).

I think I’ll hit the range on Tuesday.

Congrats on your retirement! Now go forth and multiply... or divide... or whatever the heck you want to do! You're retired!

CONGRATULATIONS!
The adjunct professor thing sounds like a good idea. In my case working for my friend turned out to be a good thing, it gives me a sense of purpose. Without people depending on me I tend to sit on my patoot and little else.
