When successful this war will bring peace to the middle east that will last a long time. Yemen, Lebanon, Gaza, The West Bank, Iraqi militias, Syrian forces and every other terror group just got their sugar daddy whacked and will cease to be a significant threat to anyone in very short order. All of the countries having issues in the region have those issues because the Iranian regime has supported the terrorists against the countries. The average Iranian doesn't support terrorism and with any luck they can create a government from the ashes of this one that will allow them to be free and not brutally suppressed under sharia law.
There must be a plan to get weapons to the People of Iran so that once the military/regime is reduced in effectiveness they can confront them. Iran is likely to be a mess for a while though and I suspect we will hear about mass killings of those who worked for the regime. Frankly, for a desert country they have a lot of swamp to drain and not much time to do it. And if they fail, well, we may just have to revisit the situation and make little 2,000 pound course corrections. One thing is for certain though, the People there need to be told that they no longer need a military and any effort to raise one will result in all the countries that are attacking today will attack again to remove that possibility.
From the sounds of it, the ayatollah is dead. If he weren't he would have already made an appearance to show he is alive and still fighting. So now the underlings are going to be doing the decision making. 1 of their top naval vessels is sunk in the straits of Hormuz and another sinking at the pier. It is going to be difficult to get anything to sea with the air power that is sitting there waiting. I am waiting for A-10 videos to show how bad an idea it is to send fiberglass patrol boats out to blockade the flow of oil. They are not going to have a navy left. I am really curious how many subs they have lost already. And the very real possibility of a US sub making a kill in 81 years is out there. And for only the second time in history there is the chance to make a fully submerged sub on sub kill.
You can be sure the US subs are there, unseen and unheard and that the Iranian subs will sortee to go cause trouble before they get sunk at the dock.
