Son on a !!!!!

Sitting here trying to struggle my way through the hazmat online classes and remembered I need to tweak the extractor on my Springfield Emissary and figured that was something I could tinker with at my desk while I listen to these audio modules.

Popped the extractor out, tweaked it, wiped down the insides of the gun and started to reassemble it. I was having a little bit of trouble getting the firing in stop to go in all the way, and slid it back a little too far and sent the firing pin and spring flying off into the abyss never to be seen again. I know its in this house somewhere, but I can't find it. Im sure my wife will find it as soon as I order a replacement. I have a handful of extra power wolffe firing pin springs, so I'll only need to order the firing pin itself, but I may order a new Wilson extractor as well since I've been having issues with this one.

These newer springfields use a titanium firing pin in order to make them California compliant so a magnet wouldn't help much. I'll suck it up and order a new wilson stainless firing pin which I think is better anyway, along with a ambi safety

Funny how a new firing pin turned into 300 bucks

I ordered a new firing pin and a Kings style ambi safety from Ed Brown

Wilson combat mag well

New grips and screws/bushings from VZ grips

Should be a few nice upgrades. This gun came with slim line grips that I am not really a fan of, but VZ is the only ones I could find that offers the frag pattern grips, and the other grips I have tried on it just don't look quite right with the frag pattern front and back strap checkering.

Oh!!! I guess I should post some pics of the gun. This is one I recently acquired. A buddy of mine won it in a raffle and then needed some extra cash, so gave me a pretty good deal on it.

This is basically Springfield’s modernized commander with full length dust cover and tri top slide. I had to tinker with it a bit to get it to run right, like most 9mm 1911s but it’s a pretty sweet shooter now.
