Thinking about a new carry gun!

I'm considering going back to my first love, the 45acp. I've narrowed my choices down to the Glock 30S, S&W Shield 2.0 or the Ruger American Compact. Any of you guys have experience with these models that you can enlighten me with?

Terry
I've got experience with all three, and out of those choices I would recommend the Glock or the Ruger but none of them really tickle my pickle. Have you considered a 1911 Light Weight Commander

I have owned and shot many 1911s over the decades and still have a couple. I used to carry a full size 1911 in the early eighties. I have not carried one since. Thus, I am way out of practice at dropping the thumb safety during the draw. Plus I'm old now and not comfortable carrying that much weight and size, even a lightweight Commander. Plus my hands are shaky now due to meds. I've been carrying Glocks and revolvers for the last 30 years so the draw and pull works better for me now.
That's why I'm looking at those choices listed. I am leaning toward the Glock as I'm very familiar with them and have many holsters that would probably work.

I'm looking for pros and cons of these 3 contenders to help me decide.

The couple shields have played with I wasn’t very impressed with. The Glocks work, and are actually pretty easy to shoot once you get used the the pinky under grip style. I haven’t shot the compact size river but have the full size and liked ur, but not much out there in aftermarket support including holsters
I LOVE my G30s.
Ive got a first generation S&W M&P compact .45 and it’s super smooth shooting with minimal felt recoil

It’s got less felt recoil than my Cylinder & Slide lightweight government model 1911

Problem I’ve ran into is magazines that sit flush are a real pain in the ass for me to remove, extended mags solve that

Recoil management issue a issue for me now also & the 9mm is much lighter recoiling for me

If I was to get any 45 now…..the Glock would be high on the list unless Staccato comes out with a 45 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve been experimenting with suspenders and https://www.holdupsuspenders.com/ along with https://www.perrysuspenders.com/ have really been working good, the plastic clips with a heavy ass handgun work great

Do the empty mags not eject when the button is pushed?

Just for a little reference here is some of what I’ve carried over the decades.

In my younger years I carried, in roughly this order:
Full size 1911
S&W 586 4”
S&W Model 59
Custom Browning HP

As I got older:
Colt Lightweight Commander
Colt Officers model
Colt Dick Special

The older I get the less weight and size I want on my waist. I have enough of that naturally as it is!

Mid 90s to now:
Glock 19 G2 and currently Ruger LCR 38spl.

This is not a complete list because I can’t remember all of them.

Terry
My list is considerably shorter...

S&W 28 6"
S&W 686 4"
Colt Combat Commander .45
Walther PPS M2
