Now I have several LMT's, as well as a bunch of Anderson's and a Bushmaster...I can't tell the difference in any of them!  I may defend the poor man's rifle but I respect all opinions so I don't mean this to be a poor vs snob post...just showing off my mutt!!

Why would it confuse anyone??

It’s a range toy assembled with the cheapest pieces parts possible & not a self defense weapon but a toy to play with.

take it to a 2 day high round class and it will choke and die but that’s not what it’s designed for

My Bushmaster needed a new barrel around 5k rds but they are known for being over gassed & way early burning out barrels

At the range this past weekend I was checking in and a couple older (late 40’s???) guys were leaving & complaining bitterly to the counter person about the AR’s they built that were not working properly and on & on while the counter guy tried troubleshooting them

I just smiled finally & got my name tag/lane assignment (indoor pistol range) and went shooting. No idea what they had as they were in cases and never asked

I’ve got a couple AR’s I assembled from pieces parts & they are range toys that I expect to have problems with but I almost never clean them, just wipe down, bore snake and oil, lots of oil…..

That's why some GUCCI gun guys spend thousands of dollars on certain brands of guns.  A gun has a purpose, and performing its purpose is it's ONLY real value.  It doesn't matter what NAME is on the receiver.

GarandThumb (YouTuber) did a torture test on a PSA AR-15.

He put an automatic lower and suppressor on the thing, and then proceeded to mag dump $2,000 worth of ammunition through a $450 upper.  Keep in mind this was automatic fire, AND it was suppressed.  It took him six or seven thousand rounds before the accuracy out of the barrel wasn't in spec anymore.  So the next time you get in a fire fight and have to mag dump 7000 round through a suppressed upper, PSA might not be the gun for you.

But is that a realistic test?    Did his torture test simulate how a PSA upper will hold up under normal use?  No.  All he did was show that if you really want to mag dump 8,000 rounds through an upper, the PSA might not be gun for you.  But lets be honest, what gun would?

But would any upper really hold up to 8000 rounds of full auto?  Even the M60's barrel would start to melt after so many rounds of full auto fire!  They carried extra barrels because of this!

We carried 1,800 rds of ammo for the M60 with another 1,800 as resupply and one (1) spare barrel the barrel was supposed to be changed out every 200rds to keep from burning out the barrel

you Would pour water or any liquid on the barrels trying to cool them, dumping LSA in the upper & even on the links/ammo to get lube into the receiver to keep it wet

I
My only knowledge of the m60 is I think Rambo carried one in a movie so I looked it up. At 25# plus ammo that's quite a package to lug around!  Even at that weight I'm sure it takes some training to control it with 600 rpm of .308. I've only fired one full auto, an American 180, boy was that fun! Well, maybe 2 if you count the malfunctioning glenfield. I was sure glad there weren't any fed types there to see that! That was an easy fix, the factory grease had congealed in the sear engagement area, a bit of scrubbing made it good again.

Spent a extra week at 60 school when at Camp Bullis, the ones we had in school were old Vietnam rebuilt & had burnt out barrels so we learned how to keep them running when normally they would malfunction

23 pounds unloaded, 3 days classroom & 4 days at the range 1 gun per 2 trainees & had to have it spotless at the end of each range day…..
