My wife still has hers she bought in 1976 because one of our instructors at the academy told us, "I carry a .45 because they don't make a .46." She had qualified with a 3" S&W 36 and hated it because at the end of each stage everyone had to wait for Dena to load one and fire. She still scored 96% in spite of that.
