I also have  a separate stupid bright hand held light in your bedroom also…..with spare batteries

We both have CloudDefense rechargeable lights, I like the Modlight better (long story) but they are stupid expensive. However, the offspring all have a Modlight with spare batteries

Plan on your cell phone being inop, some home invaders are using jammers…..

That's why I still have a land line in my bedroom.

It was $65 a month for land line when we had it disconnected, no idea how much it runs now, don’t want the expense for something we might possibly use…..

Our landline was $65 per month, but about half the time it didn't work because they refused to re-bury the line that the county road grader dug up over a year ago. The line laying on the surface for over a year kept getting cut, got water in it every time we had rain, and it would be out for several days waiting for them to come out and fix it. The last repairman told me the company was about to send out letters discontinuing service to remote rural areas. That's when we went to a cell-based home phone. We're supposed to be getting fiber optic cable service in about a month, and I'll likely sign up for their home phone line as well as TV and Internet service.
