Well crap! Watching the acceptance speech, it appears he is more of a blow hard than before. I had hoped he'd tone it down a bit. I especially found his first part to be distasteful, we all know what happened in previous administrations and there's no need to bring it up now.

His rubbing Biden's nose in his failures didn't bother me in the least. What did bother me was the band's faux pas when it was time for Carrie Underwood to sing. Left me wondering if someone's wires got crossed and the band didn't have the sheet music for that song. At least Carrie pulled it out of the fire and did a good job on the song.

Trumps first speech I thought was spot on but his 2nd before signing the first EO was……way way to long

liberals are melting down and it’s glorious, CB1app is closed, all appointments are cancelled, BP shut the entry points down while restructuring, going to see lots of whining and crying from “migrants”

I have a confession to make. I'm either a liberal conservative or a conservative liberal. The pendulum really needs to swing back, but it usually swings too far in both directions. This global swing to the right kinda scares me. Right now, it's going in the right direction, but the pendulum was so far to the left that the momentum may very well carry it too far the other direction.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Trump is Hitler dumbass, but I can see some comparisons in his abilities to stir up the masses.
A lot of corrections need to be made and I'm all in for that, but I hope we don't go too far.

Just to add to that, I'm more of an old school Jeffersonian liberal (you know, before the progessives co-opted the name). The idea that we could encourage Mexicans to come into the USA and harvest our crops (braceros program, torpedoed by Ted Kennedy) was a good thing. I can remember 2 Mexican families showing up every year to work our area's sugar beets. They were good folks and took their earnings back to Mexico at the end of the season. I think sugar beets are more mechanized now, but many crops still have to be harvested by hand.
As far as to our open borders situation, letting all kinds of bad apples in, I think machine gun emplacements are a good idea.

Plus mine fields. And electrify the wall. Also, really big guard dogs with really big teeth.

That would be a good start.

Along with hitler not being right wing there have been others who were able to stir up the masses. obama, and JFK for instance. As for swinging too far to the right, I don't see it happening. Everything Trump has done so far will be reversed the instant the democrats cheat another obama puppet into the White House. I think what we will see from the actions of the next 4 years will be successful in bringing back the economy and it will just be the people who want to kill babies and put men into women's spaces who don't like it.

One really good thing he's done already is to pardon most of the J6 political prisoners. Most of those imprisoned were merely in the area and even those who got into the building really weren't the threat they were portrayed as.
I hope they can get their lives repaired. That was truly a travesty.
