I just learned that my neighbor is coming by tomorrow to figure out the tower installation he has planned for me. Can you imagine several guys on the work crew all donating their time and what ever materials I don't have (I have quite a bit of Davis 400 ultra flex coax and connectors for it so that shouldn't be a problem). I've always been the helpful guy but I've never been on the receiving end of things like this so it feels kind of strange to accept this help. I guess the chickens are coming home to roost. I'm truly blessed!
Anyway, I have great location, radio wise, and getting my antenna up to 40 feet should allow me to work the world. Ham radio is a silly hobby but I enjoy it immensely.
I forgot to ad, my bedrock is only 16" down so my safety ground really sucks. Bill has a hammer drill so he's going to add a couple of good ground rods.
