Don’t want to sound like a jerk but you get the city you vote for & they have elected far left socialists who hate law enforcement and embrace criminal behavior

Seems like the state outlawed police pursuits except in specific cases & with evidence

You don’t even need to stop for a traffic violation & can drive away

Just to put an exclamation point on it, I was on Edgar Martinez just about to I 90 today. 4 lanes, 8' wide sidewalks on each side. Crazy street guy walking in my lane and screaming at me to get out of his way. He punched my trailer as I went by. At 20mph I don't imagine that felt good.

I get it about the government she voted for. Maybe enough people will eventually figure it out.

Yep, and they have demoralized and targetted their own police officers for doing their jobs - now the police can't or won't act and people still cry.

City that held the police back and fled as terrorists invaded their police station and set up some bullshit "autonomous zone" - which hilariously enough they almost instantly setup their own police force, that shot to death a black teenager for joyriding (using a scary AR15 no less) and you heard nothing about the police going after those individuals or the outcome of their trial, if any ever came.

The state that has banned police pursuits, restricted use of force, and castrated their cops.

Portland couldn't be outdone, so they banned their cops from enforcing "low level traffic laws" - so now they aren't chasing speeders, red light runners, etc.

The whole damn west coast is a disaster. If we ever get a government in DC worth a shit - they need to string up every legislator, every mayor, every governor, every city council member who voted for that nonsense and lock them away, and seize their fortunes to recoup just a fraction of the financial burden the taxpayers of those places have suffered from it.

Yep. Oregon decriminalized (legit decriminalizing, not just not prosecuting) hard drugs in the 2020 election, only a few months after we left there and moved here to Texas.

Within months I was getting pictures of the place I called home for almost 39 years,  a suburb of Portland called Hillsboro, where Intel has all its Oregon manufacturing and research campuses at - which *was* in a conservative county with a great sheriff - with tent cities popping up. A gun shop / pawn shop I did a lot of business with was robbed of a shipment of handguns one night. They had a tent city right across the street from them between rail road tracks and a neighborhood. County commission decided to take the softheaded Portland approach to homeless camping, which promoted these dregs moving into neighborhoods, increasing the crime across the board.

Here we are 3 years after that election, they're having hard time recruiting cops. The SO in the county I lived in is now *starting* entry level deputies at $75,000, with top pay for a non-rank holding patrol deputy being $101k without overtime. The good sheriff is retiring this month (or maybe he retired on Halloween, I forget) and they've got a female taking over. I dont' mean to be sexist, but I've been seriously disappointed in every female sheriff and chief of police I've seen. I think its a sign that that area is going to continue going woke, and going further into the deep end of the idiot pool. Pat Garrett was a hell of a sheriff, strong 2A friend, and a voice of reason in the community. I have no idea who this chick is who is replacing him, she was apparently a chief deputy when I still lived there, but I've never heard of her. I had friends in that department. Her experience primarily lies in corrections, if I'm not mistaken, so I'm not really sure how hot she's going to be as a *law enforcement* officer, moreso than a corrections officer.

I feel bad for my family we left behind there, they're paying taxes that keep going to this crap and the democrats cheat their way to power. THey also Gerrymandered districts to prevent popular republicans from regaining office after being drawn out of the districts they historically had, and shocker, drew it so the democrats ensured they will remain in power.
