Greens!

tommag, 6 hours ago

My neighbor asked if I needed anything from the store and I responded with beet, turnip, and collards in that order. Since Yoke's market opened the new store I've only seen spinach and kale there. Imagine my surprise when she came over with 3 bunches of beet greens!
Today's dinner is going to be excellent!

I know i posted this before, but I wanted to put it up again  I taught my daughters about foraging for mushrooms and my youngest daughter took what I've taught her and has become not only a forager but an amateur mycologist, studying fungus in depth. I'm so proud of her!
Here she is displaying a pristine example of boletus edulis.

On the air after a long absence

The local guys noticed that I've been absent for a couple weeks and I got on the air yesterday and today. What a warm welcome I got!  Bill kb7epr has several sections of rohn25 tower and wants to set me up with a proper tower for my antennas. Due to my proximity to the airbase I'm limited to 43' but I'm only at about 21' feet so 40' would be a monster improvement. Because of my low elevation I'm stuck at about 7,000 miles and an extra 20' would allow me to work the world from here. He's going to put up the tower without my physical involvement. All i'd have to do is make up a longer coax and I have plenty of coax so that wouldn't be a problem.
I don't know about your local area, but the ham radio community in my area is extremely helpful here. I'm blessed!

My heart monitor

I have to wear this monitor for a month and it turns out to be made by Icom (my preferred brand of ham radio), and that got me thinking. Yeah, I know, that's a dangerous thing.
What if I did the mars mod on it so it would transmit my thoughts on the VHF/uhf frequencies?
Maybe that's not a good thing, my raw thoughts would have the state hospital staff over here fitting me for a straight jacket.😆😆

Back in my youth, I was pretty much indestructible. I could take a powerful hit or seveveral and
keep on swinging.
Fast-forward to today and not so much.
I dozed off in my office chair and it squirted out from underneath me and I knocked myself out. I managed to unhook my heart monitor and it took all I could do to get myself upright again and reconnect to my heart monitor.  I called my neighbor and told her I might need help in the future, she said sure, just leave the door unlocked.
How far I've fallen!
