RE: good morning! - olfart - 09-07-2024 We had a delightful 58 degrees at 0600 with partly cloudy skies after a 0.7" rainfall last night. We spent about 3 hours traveling each way to a hamfest at Queen Wilhelmina State Park in Arkansas atop Rich Mountain. The temp on top of the mountain at noon was 66 with about 15 - 20 mph wind gusts, which played havoc with the tents and some of the contents. Anything that wasn't nailed down should have been. Saw lots of old gear and lots of old people, ourselves included, but the only thing I bought was an ARRL Handbook from 1984. Couldn't turn it down at $5. Then back down the mountain for our annual visit to "The Chopping Block" steakhouse for lunch, which was worth the trip. RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-10-2024 Taking Pumpkinhead in for her checkup and steroid shot this morning. Will update later. Terry RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-10-2024 Went to the vet and they told us our appointment was yesterday. That's not what was written on our calendar. They rescheduled us for Thursday. Terry RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-11-2024 66 With 71% humidity at my house.. Somehow my indoor cats got fleas. Terry RE: good morning! - olfart - 09-11-2024 70 here with rain. 2" so far with more on the way. Trying to make up for zero rain in August, I reckon. RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-13-2024 Pumpkinhead is doing great! She's up to 7 pounds now! Vet says call her in a month and if there's no change we can discontinue the steroid shots. Now, we just have Houdini to worry about. Terry RE: good morning! - Rampy - 09-13-2024 My doggie is having hip problems & our local vet put him on pain meds but now he is stumbling and can hardly use the steps on the deck to get into the yard so we take him out the front as those steps are carpeted Have a appointment for the Orthopedic department at CSU in Fort Collins (#2 veterinary teaching hospital in the county) for next month & it’s a 2-3 hour assessment and if images are needed it can take 5-7 hours. They have all kinds of state of the art Ultrasound, CT, MRI and more. They have a big Matt with sensors so the can evaluate how he walks along with how much pressure each paw apply to the ground The initial assessment is done by board certified specialists and students as is all treatments, images No idea how much it will cost….but it will be worth it figuring out what’s wrong and if it can be treated or he needs to be made comfortable and placed in hospice RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-13-2024 (09-13-2024, 02:43 PM)Rampy Wrote: My doggie is having hip problems & our local vet put him on pain meds but now he is stumbling and can hardly use the steps on the deck to get into the yard so we take him out the front as those steps are carpeted Prayers inbound for your best friend! Terry RE: good morning! - specops56 - 09-14-2024 72 with 95% humidity and looks like it's going to rain at my house. Terry RE: good morning! - srjdsmith - 09-14-2024 My wife heard a commotion around the chicken coop about 5:00 this morning. She said it was like all the hens woke up at once. A little while later as I was making coffee, my daughter called to her that there was an opossum in the tree above the coop. Well, my friends, there is one less opossum in this old world. In town I suspect Dubuque’s Finest would take exception to the use of firearms, but my .22 cal RWS mod 48/52 does just fine with nothing but air and a lead pellet. |
