orange cottage cheese - tommag - 06-26-2024

On the local repeater a guy mentioned this and it sounded good so I gave it a try.  I used a 12 oz can of mandarin oranges in a quart of cottage cheese.  It turned out great!

My wife makes a great salad of cottage cheese mixed with lime Jello and crushed pineapple. Really simple to make, and delicious.

That sounds like a strange combination.

don’t know if it’s a Iowa thing or just what my parents did growing up (father owned a dairy processing milk with his 2 brothers, (and his uncle had a dairy farm) so we had tons of cottage cheese) but it was either the western dressing or opening a can of fruit cocktail and dumping some of that & I never liked it that way

I love cottage cheese- large curd is better but I’ll eat both kinds. Pepper and salt- no other additives.

My Dad was a dairy farmer and we learned to eat lots of dairy- I can scoop a pile of sour cream on my plate, salt it, and eat it with a spoon. Only thing is I prefer my dairy before it goes bad- no blue cheese, no feta, nothing that walks around on its own…

Maytag blue cheese…… yummmmmm

had a huge Greek salad for supper with a ton of feta (protein) sooooooo goooood

I usually eat my cottage cheese with fruit mixed in and sometimes a little cinnamon and sometimes a little Hershey sugar free chocolate syrup.
