At 100-200 yards that bit of slop should be ok but it can bother you. If I were to use Weaver rings on a picatini rail, (and I have) I'd make sure the rear one is against the rear of the slot, then force the front one against the front of the slot before tightening the rings on the scope.
As long as you still have acceptable accuracy for hunting I wouldn't curtail the hunt while waiting for the picatini rings to arrive. If your accuracy is acceptable I might even live with it as is, depending on how much season you have left
